I'm 56, been wearing running shoes since my first blue Nikes
thirty years ago. I settled on the New Balance MX608 about a
few years ago because it is comfortable and wears well. I
wear them everyday, walk about four miles a day for
exercise. A pair lasts about 9 months before they begin to
lose their support and crack in a few places. So I buy
another. My biggest fear is that they'll quit making them.
My son calls them "old man" shoes, and I do have a couple of
friends who have gravitated to them, too. But why not,
they're really good shoes.

I have loved these sneakers for a very long time. Everyone I
know who owns them has a similar story of pair after pair.
These are great shoes! I've bought & worn these in both
navy/white & all white for over 12 years (50 pairs). The All
White has no "mesh panels", & retains it's firm stability
30% longer than the navy/white with the mesh panels. The
mesh panels are small but make the shoe noticeably cooler.
So, a good choice: navy/white for real pillow comfort, All
White for Serious cross-training. My one issue that never
meant anything (until I developed hip arthritis) ,is that
these shoes are tall. Step into them & my tiny 5'6", becomes
5'7 1/2"!!However, they are almost 1/2 inch taller in the
heel than the toe. This causes you to lean "slightly

I like this style. The navy blue is almost black. I found
them to be easier to break in and have higher arch support.
Very comfortable right out of the box. Construction is about
the same as most top notch shoes these days - excellent, but
with some man-made materials as part of the exterior trim -
and the stitching across the tip of the sole will keep it
from coming unglued and flapping. The laces are falling
apart already and they are less than a month old. The laces
are also stretching. My only real complaint.

After years and years of pain after every single step I
took, I was introduced to these shoes. For the first time in
I can't tell you how long, I was walking free of pain!
Although I am a woman, I buy the men's sizes to accommodate
a bunion, so I can't speak to how true the sizes run. I was
wearing a thick ankle brace when I bought my first pair and
by going a size larger, it fit with no problem. The shock
absorption is awesome. I find myself off balance easily, and
the stability in this shoe has helped keep me upright. The
Rollbar helps me to push off on my next step with less
effort. My orthotics fit with no problem. Everything in the
description claims is true. This is the only shoe I have
been able to buy off the shelf and wear with no adjustments
needed. This shoe truly changed my life. The only thing I
would change is to offer it in black for the folks who need
to wear this shoe in an office setting.
